Job Advertisement: Grant Administrator

The Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF) is a government agency that develops knowledge about the living conditions of young people and the conditions of civil society. Our vision is an open and inclusive Sweden with good conditions for youth and civil society.

MUCF has been tasked by the government to work towards achieving the goals of youth policy and civil society policy. We do this by producing, collecting, and disseminating knowledge, as well as contributing to the coordination of government initiatives. We collaborate with authorities, municipalities, regions, and civil society organizations, and distribute state grants.

As of January 1, 2026, the agency's mission has expanded as we have taken over the responsibilities that previously belonged to the Agency for Support to Faith Communities (SST) and the responsibility for state tasks within minority policy. This means that MUCF is an even more important actor in the work to strengthen democracy, promote participation, and contribute to an inclusive society.

MUCF has offices in Växjö and from February 2026 also in Stockholm.

The Grants Department has as its main tasks to distribute state grants to non-profit organizations, national minorities, faith communities, and foundations, as well as to follow up on them. The Grants Department also has a support function for grant-giving actors.

Job Responsibilities

The main job responsibilities include processing national grant applications and reports from organizations applying for organizational, project, and operational grants based on existing regulations and other directives.

Read more at www.mucf.se (www.mucf.se).

The processing is done in collaboration with colleagues and with the support of various functions within the agency. The work includes having contacts with applicants and actors interested in our grants.

You are active in environmental monitoring and can handle difficult and complex cases with the help of colleagues but also by independently familiarizing yourself with relevant areas and seeking information.

The work in the Grants Department is event-driven, and you need to have a dynamic approach to the influx of assignments and be able to take on tasks that the operation requires at the moment.

The position is located at our office in Växjö.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a university degree of at least 180 credits (120 points according to the previous system) in, for example, political science, law, or economics, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent and relevant to the job's tasks.
  • at least six months of current work experience in processing state grants at an authority or other public organization.
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
  • good knowledge of the Office suite.
  • experience working in and familiarizing yourself with various data systems.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience working with grant applications. In the selection and appointment process, great importance will be placed on such experience.
  • experience from organizations that apply for or receive public grants.
  • documented interest and preferably knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • civil society organizations
    • democracy-promoting work
    • work against racism and extremism
    • integration issues
    • faith communities
    • national minorities
    • Sweden's youth and civil society policy

As a person, you have a good ability to meet different target groups based on their conditions and needs. You do this through good collaboration skills both internally and externally and through a relationship-building and networking approach. You are structured and flexible in your work and follow processes and routine descriptions. You feel comfortable in new contexts and are confident in representing the agency in a professional and trustworthy manner. You are attentive, active in meetings, and contribute to a good collaborative climate.

Crucial for the position is your ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive processes forward.

Conditions

Probationary employment is usually applied.

Flexible working hours.

Workplace Växjö.
